1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Castium (including the desktop broadcast suite, web player, and companion Discord bot), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the software or companion bot.
2. Description of Software & Bot
Castium is an open-source, self-hosted audio broadcast suite designed for radio stations, DJs, voice actors, and audio curators. The Castium Discord bot is a companion integration that relays live broadcast audio into configured Discord voice channels. The bot operates as a client on behalf of the broadcaster and does not provide standalone server-side bot hosting.
3. Self-Hosted Operations & Broadcaster Responsibility
- •
Infrastructure & Configuration: You host, execute, and maintain your own instance of Castium and its Discord bot using your own hardware and Discord Developer Application credentials.
- •
Broadcast Content & Rights: You are solely responsible for all audio streams, music, talk segments, track metadata, and media broadcast through your instance. You represent and warrant that you hold all necessary licenses, permissions, and rights to publicly transmit or stream such material.
- •
Local Credential Storage: Broadcasters are responsible for safeguarding their local Discord bot tokens and configuration files (
CastiumProfile.json).
4. Discord Platform Compliance & Acceptable Use
- •
Discord Terms Compliance: When using the Discord bot integration, you and your listeners must comply with the Discord Terms of Service and Discord Community Guidelines.
- •
No Inbound Voice Recording: The Castium Discord bot is designed exclusively for outbound audio transmission. It does not monitor, capture, record, transcribe, or store incoming voice channel audio from server members.
- •
No Message Scraping or Spam: The bot does not scrape text channels or send unsolicited direct messages. Any abuse of Discord APIs or intentional disruption of voice channels is strictly prohibited.
5. Intellectual Property & License
