1. Overview
Castium is a self-hosted audio broadcast suite and companion Discord bot. We are committed to transparency and respect user privacy. This policy outlines how data is handled when you use the Castium desktop application, web player, and Discord integration.
2. Information We Collect
Because Castium operates as a self-hosted service on the broadcaster's own infrastructure:
- •
No Personal Data Collected by Castium Developers: Castium does not run telemetry, track listeners, or collect personal identifying information (PII) on central servers.
- •
Discord Bot Interactions: The Castium Discord bot only processes the minimum data necessary to function in a Discord server:
- Voice channel connection state (to stream broadcast audio to listeners).
- Guild/Server IDs and Channel IDs (stored locally in the broadcaster's profile to know where to stream).
- Track titles/artists (to update the bot's "Listening to" status).
- •
No Audio Recording: The Castium bot transmits outbound broadcast audio into Discord voice channels. It does not record, capture, process, or store incoming audio from voice channel participants.
- •
No Message Scraping: The bot does not store or read message content from text channels.
3. Data Storage & Security
All bot tokens, channel configurations, and station profiles are stored locally on the broadcaster's machine (CastiumProfile.json). No configuration data is stored on or transmitted to third-party databases.
4. Third-Party Services
When using Discord features, your interactions are also subject to Discord's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy:
